years in the fishing industri
Simrishamns Fryshus AB became a part of Skillinge Fisk-Impex AB
on January 1, 2000. For the past 50 years Simrishamns Fryshus AB
has acted as a service company to the fishing industri. It is a
commercial cold store pant offering a full range of services including
horizontal and vertical flat freezing, tunnel freezing and loose
freezing in gyrofreezers.
Freezing 250 tons per day
The total freezing capacity is approximately 250 tons per day. The
company has 18,000m³ of cold storage space and its close proxinity
to the harbor in Simrishamn offers excellent opportunities to export
to other harbours by boat. In fact, the factory is only 15 metres
from the quayside.
Sorting, grading
Besides our cold storage we also have a sorting plant where we sort
and grade the cathes landed by our boats. In this plant we sort
four different sizes of Baltic and Skarp heering depending on our
customers` wishes.
Once sorted and graded the fish are frozen in a fast-freeze vertical
freezer to preserve their high quality.
We are also an IQF subcontractor, wich means that we freeze herring
and cod fillets for the Swedish domestic market. Lastly, we also
operate an ice factory at Simrishamn´s harbour that, among
other things, supplies the fishing boats with ice as an extra service.
The frozen fish is exported to numerous countries.
Freshwater fish
Simrishamns Fryshus AB now imports and sells freshwater fish such
as zander (zander fillets), pike (pike fillets), perch (perch fillets)
- a new and interesting market segment.
